About Me

- Location: Bordentown, New Jersey, United States
I believe there is a direct relationship between the Zen Satori moment and the creative insight necessary when making a meaningful photograph. Henri Cartier-Bresson called it a way of saying "Yes." Jerry Uelsmann calls it a poetic moment. Athletes call it being "in the zone." I know it as that intuitive moment when you press the shutter and you "know" you have captured a significant moment. I work as a photo editor at The Philadelphia Inquirer. My photographs have been exhibited at venues in Hawaii, Florida, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. Along the way I photographed the conflict in South Vietnam, a small war in Central America, and worked at newspapers in Missouri, Florida and since 1982, Philadelphia. I live in New Jersey with my writer/photographer wife, Susan, and our two cats, neither of whom write or photograph, but are very busy critics.
